RESTAURANT INVENTORY & FOOD COST
Know what came in, what changed, what it costs, and what needs attention.
Venkoi's featured product connects invoices and purchases to inventory movement, supplier prices, food cost, physical counts, and reorder preparation. Venkoi also takes on selected custom mobile and web projects.
Inventory
On HandFollow the information from an invoice to the decisions that follow.
Venkoi Serve connects an approved purchase to inventory history and source costs, then carries that context into counts, reorder preparation, and owner review.
What came in?
Detect invoice details, correct the Purchase Draft, and explicitly post only after review.
What changed — and why?
Trace a movement back to receiving, waste, production, a count, or a manual adjustment.
What did it cost?
Carry valid supplier costs into preparation and menu review; show Partial or Missing when source costs are incomplete.
What should be purchased?
Compare the count with par, account for packages, and prepare a supplier-grouped shopping list.
What needs attention?
Review price changes, waste, count variance, cost gaps, below-par items, and recent activity.
The first release is planned to include these workflows. Accepted participants can use Venkoi Serve free for 3 months.

Inventory gets harder when the information lives in different places.
Why keeping inventory, purchases, and costs in separate places makes restaurant operations more difficult than they need to be.
Restaurant food cost: from ingredient cost to menu item
How package prices become usable ingredient costs, flow through preparations and yield, and reach the cost of a plate.
Restaurant inventory counts: zero, uncounted, and variance
A practical guide to recording what was found, separating zero from unfinished work, and reviewing variance before inventory changes.
PRODUCT PHILOSOPHY
Build the useful part first.
Keep the work visible
A person should be able to see what happened and what to do next.
Built around real workflows
We learn the existing process before deciding what the software should change.
Add with a reason
New functionality should solve a known problem, not fill a feature list.
